A landmark deal has reshaped Southwest Florida's hospitality market with the sale of the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort for a staggering $835 million. This represents one of the largest single-asset hotel transactions in our region’s history.
The buyer, Sculptor Diversified Real Estate Income Trust, acquired the iconic 809-room resort from seller Barings LLC (A MassMutual Branch).
The price, which breaks down to over $1 million per room, reflects enormous confidence in the local luxury tourism sector. The resort’s value is bolstered by its prime beachfront, two championship golf courses, and a massive 140,000 square feet of convention space.
This unique feature allows the hotel to generate its own demand by hosting large corporate groups during the off-season, a capability competitors cannot match.
This blockbuster investment underscores the escalating value of irreplaceable local properties in a market where new development is incredibly difficult. Read More... |
A troubling reality exists beneath our community's sunny exterior, as the fight against child hunger is an urgent, daily battle for many families in Collier County.
Behind the picturesque views of Marco Island, an estimated 15% of children face food insecurity. Thanks to The Marco Island Lutheran Church, a $30,000 Grant has been awarded to assist Our Daily Bread.
This hunger crisis is affecting the children of hardworking families struggling to make ends meet in our neighborhoods. Leading the charge is Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, a lifeline for hundreds.
The pantry’s work is more critical than ever, distributing food through weekly drive-throughs and mobile pantries.
While recent grants from groups like the Marco Lutheran Church Foundation provide crucial support, the need continues to outpace donations.
These local charities provide more than food; they offer hope to families caught in the squeeze of our area's high cost of living. Read More... |
