Goodland Mullet-Fest at Stan's Returns for a 42nd Year of Quirky Florida Fun

The iconic three-day festival celebrates the humble mullet, non-stop live music, and the legendary Buzzard Queen Contest in Southwest Florida.

Get ready for a uniquely Florida tradition as the 42nd Annual Goodland Mullet-Fest at Stan's prepares to take over the historic fishing village.

This is more than just an event; it's a cultural cornerstone for Goodland, a tiny town with a massive reputation for knowing how to throw a party.

From Friday, January 30th, through Sunday, February 1st, 2026, Stan's Idle Hour will become the epicenter of an unforgettable weekend.

The festival honors the humble mullet fish, a local staple, served up fresh and celebrated with unmatched local flair.  But the fish is only part of the story.

The main event for many is the crowning of the Buzzard Queen.

On Sunday afternoon, contestants will compete in the famous Buzzard Queen Contest, a spectacle of feathered costumes and quirky dancing that must be seen to be believed.

It's all inspired by the legendary "Buzzard Lope" dance, a hallowed Goodland tradition where everyone is encouraged to join the fun.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with a party featuring Rock Republic, setting the stage for non-stop live music.  The Joe Yeoman Band and the Shane Duncan Band will keep the energy high on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

This beloved Southwest Florida festival famously draws a massive, eclectic crowd where, as locals say, "bikers meet billionaires."

It's a true slice of old Florida culture, packed with character and community spirit.

Be sure to arrive early to find your spot and soak in one of the most authentic celebrations in the state.
